As of September 15, 2017, Ocean Financial Federal Credit Union is required to post Same Day ACH debit transactions to your account. We have been posting Same Day ACH credits since September 2016.
We currently process ACH debits to your accounts once per business day. As of September 15, 2017, ACH debits may be posted to your account more than once per business day and in some cases on the same day you authorize the payment. This includes payments made by writing a check which can be converted to an electronic payment, payments made by telephone and authorized payments made via a biller’s website.
In the past your ACH debit transactions could have taken up to two (2) business days to be withdrawn from your account, going forward these transactions may be withdrawn from your account on the same day.
SOME AREAS OF CONSIDERATION FOR OUR MEMBERS:
- As a result of this Same Day ACH requirement, your account balance may change frequently throughout the day.
- There is also a chance that a debit will be withdrawn before a credit has been deposited.
- If there are insufficient funds at the time the debit occurs an insufficient fund fee may be applied.
Ocean Financial does not determine when the debits and/or credits are processed.
The institution initiating the payment determines when debits and/ or credits are processed. For example, a utility or insurance company who you presently authorize to automatically withdraw payments from your account will determine when the withdrawal posts to your account.
Please make sure you have sufficient funds available before scheduling or making a payment.
