The Friends of Mercy Hospital

Ocean Financial is proud to present The Friends of Mercy Hospital as part of our ongoing Charity Spotlight Program.

The Friends of Mercy Hospital is an organization comprised of dedicated local business leaders and professionals raising philanthropic support for Mercy Hospital in Rockville Centre, NY. For eighty-five years, The Friends have volunteered their time and talents supporting an array of projects for the betterment of all patients seeking care. Their events are renowned across Long Island and include the St. Patrick’s Dinner, 9 & Dine, Luau, Golf Outing and Mercy Ball.
Funds raised from their events have provided the Mercy Hospital community with new and improved facilities, state of the art equipment and impactful patient programs.

Past projects include:
Purchased: Pediatric Plates – providing imaging with the least disruption and comfort to infants.
Purchased: NICVIEW Technology – connecting newborns with their families virtually.
COVID-19 PPE & Supplies – provided food, housing and supplies during global pandemic.
Supported the construction of the following units: Sleep Apnea Center, Center for Hyperbaric Medicine & Wound Healing, and Physician Lounge.
Donation to Good Shepherd Hospice at Mercy.
Purchased: State of the Art Equipment in Imaging for the Radiology Department including MBI for advanced women’s imaging and cardiology.

In addition to raising funds for Mercy Hospital, The Friends of Mercy support local community events and advocate for our underserved neighbors by providing food and awareness through specialty projects. Most recently The Friends provided bicycles for youth in the community, and helped address food insecurity via their “Giving Garden” that supplied fresh vegetables to families facing hunger in the community. They also sponsor health presentations with various topics aimed at bringing general health and mental health awareness to the community.

As a nonprofit, The Friends of Mercy are honored to support Mercy Hospital as they reinvest monies raised into world-class patient care, medical education and patient programs.
